Discover Mongolian Script

Mongolian script is an ancient and beautiful writing system. It is unique because it is written from top to bottom, unlike many other scripts. This special writing system is a very important part of Mongolian culture and history.

Writing Direction &amp; Circles

Mongolian script is written vertically, from top to bottom. When forming circular strokes, you draw them clockwise, like the hands of a clock. This is different from Cyrillic letters, where circles are often drawn counter-clockwise.

Building Blocks of Letters

Mongolian script letters are built from basic shapes called strokes. These include main strokes, like the 'tooth' or 'crown' shape, and auxiliary strokes. Auxiliary strokes help differentiate similar letters, making each character unique.
