Isha: Night Prayer

Isha is the night prayer, performed from when darkness truly settles until just before dawn, though often completed before midnight. It consists of four units, or rak'ahs. This prayer helps Muslims conclude their day with spiritual reflection, like a peaceful moment before sleep, seeking rest and blessings.

Structure of Salah

• Each prayer unit is called a rak'ah.

• It begins with standing (qiyam).

• Includes bowing (ruku') and two prostrations (sujood).

• Sitting (jalsa) occurs between prostrations and at end.
