A lie is when you say something that is not true on purpose. The truth is telling exactly what happened.

Lies of Hiding (Omission)

Sometimes, a lie is when you hide something you did. Like not telling your grown-up you spilled milk or broke a toy. You are not saying a false thing, but you are hiding the truth.

Lies of Making Up Stories (Fabrication)

Sometimes, people make up a whole story that isn't real. Like saying your dog ate your homework when it's really safe in your backpack. This kind of lie is called fabrication.

Lies of Pretending Not to Know (Denial)

Sometimes, a lie is pretending you don't know something you did. Like saying, 'I don't know who spilled the milk!' when you know it was you. This is also a way of not telling the truth.
